While Tempo is flexible, you should plan to spend 15-20 hours per week to make continual progress in your program. Students who wish to finish their program at an accelerated rate will need to spend more than this.
Please be aware that there are also minimum requirements to stay enrolled in Tempo. For more information, please see engagement with the learning platform in the student handbook.
If you are considering a change of program or specialization, make sure to contact your coach for assistance.
This could depend on the reason for your withdrawal. Please contact your academic coach for further assistance.
Once you have completed more than 85% of your program, and intend to finish the program in your current subscription period, you should complete the graduation application. Here’s how to find the application: navigate to your Tempo portal > My Learning > My Progress > Apply for Graduation
You will be able to access the grad app only if you have completed more than 85% of your program.

Then, send your completed form toTempoOperations@mail.waldenu.edu

- State ID (if it contains a Social Security Number)
This will depend. Here are some things to think about:
- Is the course you wish to take elsewhere transferrable? You can find this information on the program of study that was prepared for you when you were admitted to the university.
- Are you aware of the transfer of credit maximum for your program? Do you have credits you can still take before reaching the maximum? Each program has a maximum number of credits you can transfer in. Please see here for the transfer of credit maximums.
- Can you commit to earning a C or higher for undergraduate courses or a B or higher for graduate courses?
- If you receive financial aid, do you understand how completing the course elsewhere will impact your credits needed to earn your next disbursement? Coursework you complete externally and transfer in does not count towards the credits you need to earn your next disbursement.
- Do you understand how coursework taken elsewhere impacts your satisfactory academic progress? Coursework you transfer into the program impacts your program completion percentage differently than coursework you take in the program.
